From Centerville go east on Highway 7, approx 5 miles to CR 130. Turn right on CR 130 and go south 0.60 miles to the point where CR 130 splits, one leg goes straight ahead and the other leg goes to the left (this makes a large circle like configuration). Take the left turn and go 1.40 miles to an old abandoned wagon trail on the right side of the road. Turn right down this old wagon trail and go 0.15 miles. The graves will be to the left. The closest one will be about 100 feet from the trail down an old fence line.

Surveyed by Herbert H. McCarter November 18, 1999Mr. McCarter reports that these graves were scattered over a large area and in some places the undergrowth was pretty bad so he believes that there were more graves, marked or unmarked that he did not see. He found 3 funeral home markers that were unreadable. Most of the graves were in or next to a clump of bushes that reminded him of crepe myrtle bushes. There were several clumps of this crepe myrtle looking bushes that he thought would have a grave nearby, but none were to be found.
There is a burial for Fred McMillan also at Shady Grove. For
some reason his gravestone was found in a back yard in Dallas. His death
certificate says he was buried at Shady Grove. I am assuming that more of his
family are buried there too.
