Abilene Reporter News Abilene, Texas September 18, 1962 ALEXANDER EARL SATTERWHITE Breckenridge: Rites for ALEXANDER EARL SATTERWHITE, 83, pioneer Stephens County stock farmer, are scheduled at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Necessity Baptist Church with Rev. RICHARD LEWIS of Fort Lewis officiating. Mr. Satterwhite was found dead at the home of his daughter Mrs. JAMES (BENNIE) BRYANT of Breckenridge. Relatives said he had been suffering from a heart condition for several years but had remained active. Born Oct. 30, 1878 in Houston County, he came to Stephens County in 1887 by covered wagon with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. ALEX SATTERWHITE. The family lived in the Caddo community. Married Oct. 2, 1898 to GEORGIA C. LANGFORD, he had lived at Necessity since 1898 and had been active in community development. Mrs. Satterwhite died in 1956. A deacon in the Necessity Baptist Church, he had attended services there Sunday night preceding his death. Burial will be in the Necessity Cemetery with SATTERWHITE Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include two other daughters, Mrs. GARDNER JOHNSON of Albany and Mrs. FLOYD WILLIAMS of San Angelo; one son LLOYD of Necessity community; one brother T. B. SATTERWHITE of Marlowe, Oklahoma; one sister Mrs. JESSIE LANGFORD of Ranger; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
