Charles Milton Nickells Charles Milton Nickells, age 84, born on July 19, 1920 in Saratoga, Texas passed away January 24, 2005, after a short battle with terminal Pancreatic Cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield Scott Nickells and Edna Arrington Nickells. He graduated in 1938 from Saratoga High School and graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1942. He was in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Specialist in Athletics. He was a lifetime member of the American Association of Professional Land Men and the Lafayette Association of Petroleum Land Men. In his early years with Sun Oil Company he was very active in the American Petroleum Institute. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Gates Nickells, one son, Charlie Nickells and wife Gerry. Grandsons, Chas Nickells and wife Michele and great granddaughters, Shelby and Makenna, grandson Mark Nickells and wife LeaAnne and great grandsons, Cullen, Tucker and Mason. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the exceptional home care he was given by loving employees of Houston Hospice and especially Kay Linson. Mrs Charlyne Matchett Shaver, age 83 of Crockett, former resident of Palestine and Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, Oct 2 in Tyler. Mrs Shaver was born May 27, 1924 in Houston County. She was a retired teacher and member of the South Loop Church of Christ in Crockett.
Survivors include husband, George Willis Shaver of Crockett; daughter, Gorgana Hyde and husband, Joe of Crockett; grandchildren, Jeremy Daniel Hyde of Crockett, Casey Shaver Hyde of Huntsville; great grandchildren, Nathan Blake Hyde of Lovelady, Harper Jo Hyde of Crockett; aunt, Vivian Brandon of Lovelady; brother in law, John R Shaver of Crockett; sister in law, Margie Cecil of Palestine; nephew, James Matchett Morgan of San Antonio; numerous other relatives.

Mrs Idea Pauline Marshall, age 95 of Crockett went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 1. She was born on March 30, 1912 in Calvert, Texas to John Barney and Allie Pauline Riley Hause. Mrs Marshall went to school at Calvert. On September 15, 1934, she married the love of her life, Roy Jackson Marshall in Calvert. Together they enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three children before the Lord called R J home on February 20, 2002. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crockett.
Mrs Marshall spent her life in the most noble calling a woman can have - a Christian wife and mother. She devoted her life to raising her children, caring for her family and serving along side her husband. She served the Lord with him at Reid's Prairie Baptist Church in Waller, Cobbs Creek (Elwood) Baptist Church in Midway; Shady Grove Baptist Church of Crockett; Antioch Baptist Church of Lovelady; Westside Baptist Church and Arbor Baptist Church of Crockett and was the perfect example of a pastor's wife. For years she taught Sunday School to children and countless children were affected by her gentle, quiet and Godly lifestyle. She was a fabulous cook and entertained often in her home serving the best coconut pie in the county.
Survivors are children, Wanda Myers and husband Rev Kenneth Myers of Trinity, Joan Woolley of Crockett, Rev Roy W Marshall and wife Sharon of Hewitt; grandchildren, Tammy Myers Cloug and husband, Delbert, Julie Myers Perez and husband, Shane, Kenneth Wayne Myers and wife Belinda, Annette Arnold Green and husband, Michael, Tim Arnold and wife Dawn, Wayne Marshall and wife Brooke, Heather Marshall Anderson and husband Doug, Lindsey Marshall Klepper and husband Travis; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Walston and Doris Snow; several nieces and nephews.
Services for Pauline Marshall of Crockett will be Thursday, October 4 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church with Rev Roy W Marshall, Rev Kenneth R Myers, and Rev Kenney Dickenson officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home.

Services for Eugene Trigg, age 76 of Grapeland will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 4 at Guiceland Cemetery with Rev David Bradley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel, Grapeland.
Mr Trigg died Sunday at ETMC - Crockett. He was born December 22, 1930 in Anderson County to Lee and Cora Hancock Trigg. Mr Trigg was retired from the US Army. He also did 4 years of testing military equipment. Mr Trigg owned numerous apartments in the Houston area. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW in Ft Smith, Arkansas.
Mr Trigg was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Billie Trigg; two sisters, Gladys and Elsie; three brothers, Wilbur Trigg, Hassle Trigg, and James Trigg. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Trigg of Grapeland; sisters, Melba Prince and husband, JW of Pasadena and Barnie Allison of San Antonio; step children, Kenneth Raney and family of Oklahoma, Jeff Raney of Georgia and Gary Raney and family of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.

Russell Franklin Milliken, Jr. July 9, 1925 to Jan. 6, 2008 Russell Franklin Milliken, Jr., 82, died at his home in Florence, Texas, on Jan. 6. He was born July 9, 1925, in Ira, Texas, and spent his youth growing up in nearby Westbrook. After finishing school Russell soon joined the United States Army and a few months later married Nelda Jo York. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant after serving in the 508th Infantry regiment that fought at Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. After the war he returned home where he farmed, worked in the oil fields, and eventually owned his own service station in Big Spring. After retiring from Mobil he and Jo moved to Burnet in the mid 1980s where they lived at Enchanted Valley near Lake LBJ. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Burnet and was a Mason for more than 50 years. He was affiliated with many different Masonic organizations and enjoyed attending the different meetings and activities they provided. For the past few years he lived in Florence where he could farm and work the land he had. His marriage to Nelda Jo on April 20, 1944 lasted for more than 47 years until her death in September 1991. In addition to his wife Jo, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joe Don Milliken, in September 1991. Russell is survived by one daughter, Ann Morrow and husband, Tommy, of Florence; two sons, Bruce Milliken and wife, Karen, of Florence and Joe Milliken and wife, Mary, of Melvin, Texas; one brother, Bill Milliken of Coahoma, Texas; one sister, Vera Lee Hunter of Marble Falls; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet with the Rev. Ellen Ely officiating. Burial was held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Coahoma Cemetery in Coahoma, Texas. John Keen Born, May 16, 1908, died on Aug. 13, 2008.
He was one of 12 children of Ed and Della Keen, raised in Houston County. He was joined by four stepsisters in 1918, and one half-sister in 1922.
He moved to Dallas in 1927, retired in 1973 after 45 years with Cannon Ball and National Linen Service, serving as manager in Lubbock and Wichita Falls. He was an avid bowler, active in various Methodist churches, longtime Mason and Lions club member.
He was preceded in death in 1960 by his first wife of 32 years, Gladys Bridges Keen. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ina of Greenacres, Fla.; son, Jerry Keen (Ruth) of DeSoto; daughter, Betty Lawson of Huntsville, Ala.; stepson, Alan (Mary) Wilson of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Nora Wills and Opal Thompson of Dallas; brother, Darrell Keen of Elkhart; half-sister, Eddie Garrison of Yellville, Ark.; and many loving grand, great-grand, and great-great-grand children.
