Mrs. Lottie Graham
Mrs. Lottie Graham, 58, a native of Latexo but a resident of Houston for the past ten years, died Thursday, Jan 26,. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Graham is survived by her husband, Ruben of Houston; four sons, Ray of Gelsmer, La., Davis of Houston, and Jasper and Porter of Grand Prairie; four daughters, Mrs. Wessie Anderson, Mrs. Sue Weisinger, Mrs. Emma Gean Walling, and Mrs. Betty Thornton, all of Houston; six brothers, three sisters; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. in the Milligan Cemetery with the Rev. Deckert Anderson officiating. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. R. L. Graham, 72, of Houston, died in a Pasadena hospital Tuesday. Mr. Graham was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Elizabeth Belle Graham, 64, of Houston died Friday evening. Mrs. Graham was born in Arkansas, but had lived in Houston several years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were held from the Waller Funeral home Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Latexo Cemetery. Survivors include the husband, Tracy Graham of Houston; a son, John R. Harper of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Freddie Popp of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Alee McDougel of Indiana and Charley McDougel of Oklahoma; sister, Mrs. Violet Roads of McCaskel, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Mr. Hugh David Graham, 74, of Latexo, died Saturday in the Veterans Hospital at Marlin. Mr. Graham, born Sept. 13, 1895, in Houston County, was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Vastine Graham, age 51, of 903 Terrell Street, Crockett, passed away June 12 in the V.A. Hospital in Houston. Mr. Graham was born in Houston County on Dec. 9, 1922 and had spent his entire life here. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the Waller Family Chapel, with Rev. F.J. Edwards and Rev. E. D. Sarratt officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crockett. Frank Pettus Granberry Jr.
Mr. Frank Pettus Granberry Jr., 33, died in a Dallas hospital Monday. Mr. Granberry, born March 20, 1937, in Houston County, had lived in Dallas the last five years and was employed by the Doubleday Book Store. He was a graduate of Crockett High School and of Baylor University. He was a veteran of five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the first Baptist Church of Crockett. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Crockett, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey and Rev. Max Petty officiating. Burial was in the Grapeland Cemetery. Pallbearers were George D. Anderson, Marion M. Anderson, M. D. Darsey Jr., Charley C. Darsy, Dewitt Richards, Murdock Riall Murchison, Chester V. Hines, and Donald J. Gordon. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Granberry P. Granberry Sr. of Crockett; a sister, Mrs. James Sumrall of Houston; a nice, Susan Ann Sumrall, and a nephew, James Stanton Sumrall, both of Houston. William Duncan Granberry
Funeral services for Mr. William Duncan Granberry, 83, of Grapeland, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan 4, in the First Baptist Church of Grapeland. Reverends Bland Kirby of Grapeland, A. S. Lee of Crockett, and T. T. Lott of Houston officiated, and burial was in the Grapeland City Cemetery. Mr. Granberry died following a short illness at 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan 3, in a Crockett hospital. He was born in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 20, 1876, and was a retired banker. Mr. Granberry started his banking career as a cashier in the Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Grapeland in 1910 and later became chairman of the board. He was also chairman of the board of deacons in the first Baptist Church of Grapeland, and was Sunday School superintendent for 53 years. Mr. Granberry was treasurer of the Neches River Baptist Association. A member of the Masonic Lodge 473, A.F. & A.M., he was also affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star, Grapeland, and the Woodmen of the World. A member of the Grapeland Lions Club, Mr. Granberry was a former member of the Grapeland school board, the city council and the board of directors of the Grapeland Country Club. He was also a former station agent for L.& G.N. Railroad in Grapeland. Pallbearers were Reverends Carl Greer, Kenneth Hiner, W. E. Vaughn, Jowel Haley, J. Scott Turner, all former pastors of Grapeland First Baptist Church; and Reverends T. T. Reynolds and Edwin Johnson of Crockett. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist church, Grapeland, all pastors of the Neches River Baptist Association, and the District Secretary, Dr. H. M. Ward. Survivors are one son, Frank Granberry of Crockett; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Scarborough of Longview, Mrs. Eleanor Whitthorn of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren, Frank P. Granberry Jr., and Miss Nancy Granberry, both of Crockett. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral of W. D. Amanda Jo Grant, 3-day old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Grant of Route 1, Elkhart, died Sunday, January 13, in a Palestine hospital where she was born Thursday 10. Funeral services were held Monday, January 14, at 4 p.m. at the graveside in Parker Cemetery, west of Grapeland, with the Rev. David Hill officiating. Burial was in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Hassell & Foster. Pallbearers were Jimmy Bartee, Danny Herod, Bobby Gene Shipper, and Buddy Jeffcoat. Mrs. Hazel Berry Grant, of Beaumont, died in that city April 15. Mrs. Grant was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Berry of Crockett. She was very active in the civic affairs of Beaumont and especially in the Women’s Club of Beaumont. Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church of Crockett at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. L. B. Broach officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett. Pallbearers were Reginald Driskell, Roland Bear, Jack Barbee, Sam Arledge, J. H. Berry Jr., and Homer Graham. Mr. Lee Edward Greb Sr., 82, of Houston, died Tuesday, July 7, in Houston. Mr. Greb was a former resident of Crockett. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, and of the Woodmen of the World. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hyde Park Chapel, with Rev. David Conrad officiating. Graveside services were held at 12 noon in Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Mrs. Lemma Greb, 79, of 116 North Grace St., died Saturday at her home in Crockett. Mrs. Greb was born in Temple on July 23, 1892, but had made her home in Crockett since 1915. She was married in Galveston on Oct. 16, 1913, to Theodore William Greb, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1938, in Crockett. Mrs. Greb was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crockett. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Memorial park in Crockett. Pallbearers were Jay Skinner, Lee Greb Jr., Charles Kent, W. C. Dobbs, Herman Knox and Jack Garner. Mr. Harvey B. Green died Friday, Jan. 1, at his home in Crockett. He was 79 years of age, a member of the Methodist Church, and a lifelong resident of Houston County. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. A. O. Hearn of California; and two nieces, Mrs. Ruby Hammon of Crockett, and Mrs. H. . Sharp of Houston. Mr. Green was born Feb. 12, 1891, in Grapeland to the late John Green and Mrs. Molly Lou Browning Green, and died Thursday, July 11, at 1:35 p.m. in a Palestine hospital. Lifelong resident of Grapeland, he was a retired farmer and Church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Pallie Story of Pasadena, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Hassell and Foster.

Mr. William Cary Green, 84, of Austonio died at the home of hi son in Austonio Wednesday, July 8, following a brief illness. A retired chiropractor, Mr. green was born in Houston County Feb. 3, 1880. Mr. James Holcomb Green, 92, of 404 Runnels St., Crockett, died in a local hospital Saturday morning, Jan. 23. Mr. Green, a retired farmer and rancher, was born in Houston County on Nov. 23, 1878, and had lived here for his entire lifetime. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Crockett. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 24, at 4 p.m. in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. H. J. Rhodes and Rev. Edward R. Haspany officiating. Funeral services for Dr. Virgil L. Green 74, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Waller Family Chapel. Rev. E. P. Ramsey officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Dr. Green died at his home Monday. He was born Sept. 24, 1899 in Tolar and had been a Crockett resident for 48 years. He was a retired dentist having practiced in Crockett for many years. He was a member of the Brazos Valley District Dental Society, a lifetime member of the Texas Dental Association, Psi Omega Fraternity, the Glen Rose Masonic Lodge, and the Spring Creek Country Club. Survivors include a brother, Moody L. Green of Cranfills Gap; two nephews, M. L. Green of Comanche, and Leonard Green of Arlington. Arrangement by Waller Funeral Home of Crockett.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pallie Green Story, 80, of 1007 Maple Street, Pasadena, longtime Grapeland resident, were held Monday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sunset Christian Church with the Rev. Leroy Stanton and Calvin Dickey officiating. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery, east of Grapeland, under the direction of Hassell & Foster. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Story was born May 17, 1889, in Grapeland to the late John Calvin Green and Mrs. Mary Browning Green, and she died Saturday, April 18, at 5 p.m. in Pasadena following a long illness. With the exception of her past nine years residence in Pasadena, she spent her entire life in Grapeland, and was a widow of Louis Story, who died October 10, 1962. She was a member of the Sunset Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Sam H. Story of Pasadena, C. S. Story of Austin, and C. D. Story of Austin, and C. D. Story of South Houston; two daughters, Mrs. John P. (Reba) Childs of Timpson, and Mrs. Claud (Eula) Mason of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Violet Story of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Hope Cemetery, Wells. Mr. Greenville of Wells died in a local hospital Sunday afternoon. He was born on Nov. 25, 1898, in Angelina County and had resided in Cherokee most of his life. Mr. Greenville was a retired timber buyer and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors; daughters, Mrs. B. G. McKnight, Mrs. R. L. Pitts, both of Wells and Mrs. H. S. Gibson of Nederland; sons, Vernon of Nederland and Grady of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, Homer, Lester, George and Hilton, all of Lufkin, Alvin of Clute, Noah of Pollok and Ernest of Pollok; sisters, Mrs. Scott Massey of Dallas, and Mrs. Commie Manley of Pollok; 16 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
