The Madisonville Meteor newspaper: Josephine Adams Josephine Adams, 78, of Austonio, passed away March 19, 2004 at her residence. Funeral services were held March 23, in the Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady. Bro. Dalton Grove officiated. Interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Lovelady. Adams was born March 4, 1926 in Walker County and had lived all her lifetime in Madison County. She was a member of the Phythian Sisters and she served as a 4-H leader for a number of years. Adams was a housewife and was also a member of the Ash Church of Christ. Adams was preceded in death by parents, John Franklin (Johnny) and Nannie Ola (Greer) Nichols; brothers, Everett Leeland Nichols and Leo F. Nichols; sisters, Rachel Reynolds and Margaret Thompson; and granddaughter, Donna Adams. Adams is survived by her husband, Buford L. Adams of Austonio; children, Johnny Adams and wife Patricia of Pearson Chapel, Thomas Adams and wife Diane of Lindale, Gene Adams and wife JoAnn of Conroe, Peggy Wilson and husband Jesse of Bedford, and Donald Adams and wife Nancy of Austonio; grandchildren, Patrick Adams, David Adams, Emily Kennedy, Andrew Adams, Amanda Smith-Barry, Chris Lewis, Leann Brammer, Mary Wilson, Laura Adams, Jennifer Adams and Heather Adams; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Nichols of Mesquite; sister, Betty Walker of Porter Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
