Richard A. Satterwhite passed away
Tuesday, March 31, 2009, after a brief
but heroic battle with cancer.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at First
Baptist Church in Crockett.
Richard was born July 12, 1946, in
Crockett to A.C. "Pud" Satterwhite and
Jane Jones Satterwhite. He was a loving
and devoted husband, a patient and
compassionate father, and an unequaled
friend of many who was loved by all who
met him. He enjoyed spending time with
his immediate and extended family.
Richard was a tireless volunteer for
many organizations, including the
Arlington Girls Softball Association,
where he served on the board of trustees
for many years. He loved coaching,
playing and umpiring softball. He also
served as a board member of The Today
Church, where he often spoke. Whatever
organization in which he found himself
serving, he quickly assumed a leadership
role. However, the role he loved most
was the leader of his family.
Survivors: Wife, Sharon; daughter,
Alicia Satterwhite; son, Andrew
Satterwhite; and sister, Sheri
Satterwhite. |
