Frances
LaMont Cook, 97, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, July 25,
2007, at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m.
Saturday, July 28, at Porter Springs Cemetery adjacent to
her husband, Lansford Cook. Porter Springs is near to
Crockett in Houston County. Services will be conducted by
Rick Kelley of the Grace Street Church of Christ in
Crockett.
Frances was born June 21, 1910, in
Whitney, Texas, to William Nuckols and Florence McCabe. She
graduated in 1930 from College of Industrial Arts, retired
from the Houston Independent School District as a teacher
and counselor, and lived many happy years on land originally
settled by early Cook family.
Frances was also preceded in death
by her daughter, Barbara Wofford. Frances is survived by her
brother, W.D. Nuckols of Clifton; her daughter, Doris Dell
of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and her son, the Rev. Bob Maxwell
of Robinson; six grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
