HOUSTON COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION

This Index gives name, a little info about the person, and proceedings  - declaration of intent, citizenship, etc. The Declaration of Intent book pages were also transcribed, and they give lots more info about the person and his family; the Certificate of Naturalization book (stubs only) follows, giving the info on the certificate. The District Court in Houston Co. handled these proceedings from 1884 to 1924, when it was moved to Tyler. The original books are at the Houston County Historical Commission office, along with photocopies so that the originals don't have to be handled. All the transcriptions are printed and bound (as a part of the DAR Genealogical Records Committee project) and available at the two libraries. So if someone found a name they were interested in on the Index, they could request a lookup and get a copy of the full info.  Email:  Houston County Historical Commission
