NOTES from 1869 RECORD BOOK - Session Minutes, First Presbyterian Church, Crockett
A Colored Sabbath School was organized under the auspices and control of the church.
Viney Jones, a colored woman, was received into membership.
Session met at colored church. Alexander Turner and Moses Turner and wife received as members.
Colored Mission Sunday School with 185 students and nine teachers.
Session approved a Parochial School at Colored Church taught by Mrs. A. E. Webb since February 5, 1875, to be named "The Moffat-African Academy".
