REGISTER OF COMMUNICANTS RECEIVED, A.D. 1876
The Colored Presbyterian Church of Crockett, Texas, was
organized by the assistance of the Pastor & Elders of the
Crockett Presbyterian Church, at the Colored Presbyterian Church
in Crockett, Texas, on Sabbath afternoon, Aug. 6th 1876 - Rev.
S. F. Tenney reading the 89th Psalm & other Scriptures, & making
remarks from Ps 80:14, "Look down from Heaven, and behold, and
visit this vine". The following colored persons, having letters
of dimission & commendation from the Crockett Presbyterian
Church, entered into the organization, (adopting the Conf. of
Faith, Forms of Govt., Discipline & Worship of the Presbyterian
Church.

Alexander Turner was elected to
serve as Ruling Elder, & in connection with the services at
night was duly ordained.
Mch 31st, 1878 -- Robt. Harris was elected
& ordained a Ruling Elder.
