OLD REED or SUNSHINE CEMETERY (Nevill's Prairie)
This cemetery is located approximately five miles out of Lovelady on FM-230,
turning left at Homer Butler place. At first cross
roads turn left, then turn right and follow road to Bowzer Place, which is
recognized by huge barn and brick home.
Past Bowzer's, the road turns again. At this turn in, the wooded cemetery
plot is to the right. Mrs. Louise Fulsom supplied the
directions and also the update of the Cemetery.
She said:
"Only one marker remains, which was erected by the grandchildren of Caleb
Summers, who are Mrs. Ora Chandler, Mrs. Effie Davis and Bryant Harrelson.
The Cemetery was once a large one on the Nevill's Prairie near the old
Grange Hall in a large community. The many stones are said to have been
bulldozed and hauled away.
On the memorial
