MACKLEROY CEMETERY
This cemetery, now deserted with about 15 or 20 graves, is located on
FM-1272 about nine miles east-southeast of Antrim Cemetery (west of
Grapeland about seven miles on FM-1272). It was once the Mackleroy estate
and takes its name from the nearby Mackleroy Spring Branch. A wooden fence
encloses the graves.
Among those buried here is Sallie J. Davis, the sister of John A. Davis,
longtime Justice of Peace, Grapeland.
Mrs. I. J. Nichols first read the graves in October 1976; Edna M. Sims made
additions in 1977; group of Commission members verified for the third book.

Probably the oldest grave in this area is about 1/4 mile from
the above cemetery near the Houser home, which is on the Mackleroy estate.
It is in a native rock vault under a large oak tree (in J. F. Martin estate)
