LONG CEMETERY
Begun in 1840, the Long Cemetery was located 6 miles on the Hall's Bluff
Road. It was the burial ground for plantation owner Mr. Charlie Long, his
family, and slaves. Mrs. Espanola Murphy, aged 82, was reared on that
plantation, and still lives in the Wheeler Springs Community. She recalls
the following:

Lizzie Long,
daughter
James Long, son
Mildred Long,
daughter
Slaves, some of whom were great, great grand parents and uncles of Mrs.
Murphy were:
