GLENWOOD - South Section
But through preference, the southeast quadrant of the first sector of Glenwood was chosen for Black citizens if they were not buried in the lots belonging to the families with whom many had come to Texas.
Through the years, the area fell into neglect and became overgrown with trees, bushes and undergrowth and entangled with vines. A massive cleanup of the area was begun in 1985 by the current Glenwood Cemetery Association of Crockett, TX., Inc. who are proud of the recovery of burial sites of many precious early residents onto the present.
