DR 235-175 –July 1945 Affidavit of I. C. Wall and A. C. Neel: Background information that helps confirm location of the 44.7, 50.66 and 88.5 acre tracts. Three tracts are the focus. “…… a part of the 1032 acres that W. E. Mayes, a banker of Crockett, received from Box heirs in a law suit with Amanda Cooper and Lula K. Boling, who were two descendants of John M. Box. We remember that Mr. Mayes was awarded a judgment against these heirs for the full 1032 acres of land.….tried in District Court in Crockett.” Lot 6 in Block D, containing 2 70-1/3 ac tracts were sold to J. E. Parker and his sister, Minnie Mae Parker; Minnie married E. A. Walling and the two tracts were divided – J.E. Parker taking the West and Minnie Parker the East. Two small places were sold off Minnie’s and hers was then 67 acres. Later, Walling received the West half and it eventually was sold to M. Graham. Lot 8 of Block C was sold to N. A. Grounds and his wife Jane, who lived on it until their deaths, when their daughter, Lillie inherited it….she was by then Lillie Graham, wife of Frank Graham. M. Graham bought this tract from Lillie Graham.”
