6 May 1892 A Democratic Party Club was organized at Weldon with Dr. J. NELSON as president & W.D. GIMON as secretary.
3 June 1892: Democrats at Weldon precinct met on 28 May and elected G.M. THOMPOSN & Dr. NELSON as delegates & instructed them to vote for HOGG.
18 Aug 1893: Jacob NELSON, M.D. wrote a letter from Weldon to encourage repeal of the act of 1873 & to allow free coinage of silver.
8 Mar 1895: Delinquent tax list; Jon R. SHERIDAN, collector of taxes in Houston Co., announced that on 2 April 1895 he would sell the following land for unpaid taxes for 1894 among about 60 was NELSON, Jacob, Dr. Abstract 2 Original Grantee J.A. AUGHENBAUGH for 625 tax cost $12.27.
12 Jul 1895: In Weldon Dr. J. NELSON & W.S. RUSHING debated 2 propositions; (1) The scriptures teach that a believer in Christ may apostatize & fall away and be finally lost. (2) The scriptures teach that baptism is for remission of sin & therefore essential to salvation. DR. J. NELSON ARGUES "YES" & Rev. W.S. RUSHING argued "NO" Rev. RUSHING won the debate.
