Sulphur Bluff Cemetery

Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas
Thanks to the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery Association for submitting their transcriptions of the cemetery. For more information, contact Carolyn Freeman.

Thanks to Nancy Faulk White Adams for the use of her cemetery pictures.

Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, old section

The "Old" part of the cemetery includes the Original, First Addition, and Second Addition. For location purposes, we have divided the old part into four sections called A, B, C, and D. Burials in this part of the cemetery were not done in rows and many open spaces remain that may contain unmarked graves. This contribution to the Hopkins County TXGenWeb is from the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery Association and is an enumeration of information found on the markers in the spring of 2007 by Carolyn Freeman, James Freeman, and Nancy Bolton.

Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, new section

The "New" part of the cemetery includes the Third Addition and Fourth Addition. This section is divided into rows that are in measured lots. Fence markings along FM Road 71 indicate row numbers for Rows 1 through 35 and concrete markers set in the ground mark Rows 36 through 62. This contribution to the Hopkins County TXGenWeb is from the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery Association and the original enumeration of information found on the markers was done in April, 2006 (information updated to July, 2007) by George Bassham.

Unmarked Graves

We are compiling a list of graves that have no markers from various sources. This will be a work-in-progressas we locate or are given supporting information.
