Johnston Rites Are Conducted At Big Spring
William Jordan Johnston, 58, died Wednesday, March 11, at 4:30
a.m. in a Big Spring hospital after an illness of four days.
He lived on Gail Route and had been in failing health for several
months. He was married in Coahoma July 3, 1926.The funeral
services were held at the River
Welch Funeral Chapel.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Zelma Johnston of Big Spring; two
sons, Dillard and Rodney Johnston of Big Spring; one daughter,
Mrs. Shirley Tindel of Casper, Wyo.;
nine grandchildren; six brothers, Louis Johnston of Dallas, Ollie
Johnston and Herman Johnston of Mesquite, Stanley Johnston of
Irving, Weston Johnston of Carthage,
and Owen Johnston of Big Spring, five sisters, Mrs. Pearce Davis,
Mrs. Zereth Chaney and Mrs. Maurice McQuagge of Dallas, Mrs. Fred
Miller of Athens, and
Mrs. Clarence Foster of Irving and a number of nieces and
nephews.
NOTE: Death certificate shows born Feb 27, 1906 in Yazoo,
Mississippi and died Mar 11, 1964. Shows parents G. H. Johnston
and Emma Wiltcher.
