Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Victoria Evans,
87, who died Monday at the home of a daughter at Malakoff after a
lengthy illness, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Carroll and
Lehr Memory Chapel. The Rev. James Bell and the
Rev. R.T. Blackstock conducted the services and
burial was in the Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Evans a native of Athens, Ga., and a
resident of Texas since she was a young woman, had made her home
with her daughter, Mrs. Faris Shepard, for nine
years, before moving to Malakoff from Mount Pleasant.
Survivors are two sons, R.C. Evans of Amarillo
and Ted Evans of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Shepard;
one stepson, J.D. Evans of Mount Pleasant;
two stepdaughters, Mrs. Juda Moss of Kerrville
and Mrs. Ethel Snodgrass of Eldorado, Ark.; one
brother, Ben Prater of Duncan, Okla., a half
brother,
J.D. Evans of Littlefield; three sisters, Mrs.
R.R. McCluney of Eletra, Mrs. Maude White
of Ranger and Mrs. Etha Belt of Olustee, Okla.,
and five
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
