services for Mrs. C. C. Surles, 83, of Eustace, were held
on Sunday afternoon, conducted by. the Rev. Langham
Methodist pastor. Interment took place immediately
following at the Payne Springs Cemetery, with
arrangements in the hands of the Ballard Funeral Home of

Funeral Services For Aged Eustace Woman Are Held Sunday
Afternoon
Funeral services for Mrs. C. C. Surles, 83, of Eustace, were held
on Sunday afternoon, conducted by. the Rev. Langham Methodist
pastor. Interment took place immediately following at the Payne
Springs Cemetery, with arrangements in the hands of the Ballard
Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Mrs. Surles, familiarly known in here home town as Aunt
Lucy, passed away near midnight Saturday following a
lingering illness. Infirmities of old age, it was said, resulted
in her death.
The deceased was born in Anderson County, but had been a resident
of the Eustace-Payne Springs area for the past fifty years.
