Mrs. Arch A. Jackson
Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Arch A. Jackson,
58, of Murchison, who died in an Athens hospital Thursday morning
after a short illness, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First
Methodist Church of Murchison. The Rev. Olen Cantrell
and the Rev. Allen Bonsall conducted the
services and burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery. The Carroll and
Lehr Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Jackson
was born in Murchison Oct. 9, 1905 and was Miss Sophia B. Barnes
before her marriage to Mr. Jackson May
23, 1922. She had lived at Murchison all of her life. Survivors
are her husband; one son, Kenneth Jackson of
Athens; one daughter, Mrs. Nadra Jean May of St.
Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Perry Barnes of
Garland and Thornton Barnes of Farmers Branch;
one sister, Mrs. Oleta Yancy
of Tyler and nine grandchildren.

Another Obituary
Mrs. Sophia Jackson Funeral services were held
at the Methodist Church here on Saturday afternoon for Mrs.
Sophia Jackson who passed away Thursday.
Mrs. Jackson had been in ill health for some
time but her death coming suddenly as it did was quite a shock to
her many friends here. She is survived by her husband, Archie Jackson,
who is a patient in M.D. Anderson hospital and was unable to
attend the services; a son, Kenneth of Athens and a daughter,
Mrs. Bill May of St. Petersburg, Fla. Mr. and
Mrs. May had left only a few days before her
mother's death for their home in Florida after coming here to
be with both her parents who were ill and had only reached home
when news came of her mother's death and made the return trip.
They are remaining over
for a few days to be with her father and to take care of business
matters.
