L. D. Rose, of Athens and Rev. Moon of Frankston conducted
funeral services held Friday at Montalba for Mrs. Julia A.
Turner,
whose death occurred there at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Mrs.
Turner was formerly Mrs. Sam Brown and before her marriage was
a daughter of Dr. Tom J. Adams, pioneer settler of Anderson
county.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. John Hendrix and Mrs. A.
W.
Ferguson of Montalba, and Mrs. J. F. Austin of Frankston; two
brothers,
P. G. Adams of Montalba and John Q. Adams of Palestine.
Mr. Rose, who had known the deceased for many years, said:
"She
joined the Primitive Baptist Church early in life and she lived
as a
consistent member and leader of her church until denied by broken
health of the privilege of attending church. Services were
frequently held
in her home and she steadfastly held on to the faith."
Interment was in the Holly Springs cemetery in the Mont Alba
community. (Montalba was spelled this way in this paper. bf)
