John William Cobb
Obituary
John William Cobb, 84, passed
away in an Athens hospital at 4 a.m. Thursday after a long
illness.
He was born in LaRue and had lived there all his life. He was a
retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
His wife Mrs. Willie Cobb, died February 1,
1953.
Mr. Cobb is survived by three sons, Jack and Olin Cobb,
both of Dallas and N.A. Cobb of LaRue; four
daughters, Miss Annie Cobb and
Mrs. W.D. Harris, both of Dallas, Mrs. John
Robert Forester of the New York community, and
Mrs. Arthur Bristow of LaRue;
one brother, Jess Cobb of Beaumont; three
sisters, Mrs. Sallie Smith of Dallas, and Mrs.
Mollie Cantrell and Mrs. Ida Gentry,
both of Beaumont, and 10 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in LaRue Baptist
Church with the Rev. James Fortner officiating, and burial was in
LaRue Cemetery
with Hassell and Foster in charge.
