Thursday services for Joe Burnett
Services for Joe Burnett, 66, of the Bethel Community were held
at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Carroll and Lehr Memory Chapel with the
Rev. Bruce Harper
and the Rev. Hubert Townley officiating.Burial was held in the
Shelby Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Burnett died Tuesday in a Tyler hospital following surgery.
Born in Van Zandt County, he had lived in Henderson County for
the past 25 years. He was a well known rancher and dairy man and
was very active in ranch improvement programs in the county.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Millie Burnett; three sons,
DeWayne Burnett, Danny Joe Burnett and Johnny Graham, all of
Athens; one daughter, Mrs. JoAnne Love of Glen Rose; and one
sister, Mrs. Ila Everett of Canton.
Pallbearers included W. L. Rehkop, Tubby Neill, James Garrison,
Don Wilbanks, Bob Phillips, Newt Stillwell and Robert Godwin.
Honarary pallbearerd included Glenn Godwin, Dave Goforth, R. L.
Lank Lee Peron Black, D. O. Paris, E. W. Carnes, J. W. Graham,
Jimmy Mitchell and Harvey Eaton.
