Derden Services Sunday
Funeral services were held here Sunday at 1:30 p.m. for Jack
Derden, 64, who died Thursday night in a Beaumont hospital
shortly after suffering a heart attack
at his home in Nederland.
Services were conducted by the Rev. C. W. Patrick in Hassell and
Foster Chapel, and burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park with
Masons in charge of graveside rites.
Born February 8, 1900, Mr. Derden was a native of Athens. He had
taught and coached in a number of schools, including LaPoynor,
for many years. He was on the
school faculity at Vidor at the time of his death.
Mr. Derden is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn
Kelly of Vidor; one brother Dick Derden of Athens, and two
grandchildren.
Note: Death certificate shows Lucian Jack Derden born Feb 8, 1900
died Mar 12, 1964. Lists parents Tom Derden and Ruby Dickerson.
