Funeral services were held Monday in Athens for Harrison Smith, a former resident of the Bethel community near hear, who died in a Dallas hospital after
a short illness.

The Rev. T. L. Slimp of Athens conducted the services and burial was in the Shelby Chapel Cemetery.

Smith was employed by the county while living here, and prior to that was a farmer.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Callie Coker and Mrs. Elsie Arnett, both of Dallas; a brother, Alf Smith of Athens; eleven grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren.
