Obituary

Mrs. Gladys M. Baker, 72, a resident of 105 Laird Lane in Athens passed away early Friday morning in a local nursing home following a long illness.
Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Foster and Brown Funeral Home with Rev. F. R. Burns officiating. Internment will be in OakLawn memorial Park.
Mrs. Baker was born Sept 12 1908 in Canton, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Walling of Canton.
She was an Athens resident for 12 years. She previously resided in Dallas for 27 years where she was a real estate broker and beautician. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Suvivors include her husband, Robert W. Baker; one daughter, Joyce Douglas; four sisters, Mrs. E. Walker, Mrs. Sammy Cretsinger, Mrs. Claudia Works
and Mrs. Addie Smith; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren all from Athens.
