Mrs. Finley Dies; Rites Thursday
Mrs. Fannie Finley, 78, of Athens died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Born February 26, 1888 in Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Finley had lived
in Athens since 1925, moving here from Corsicana. She was the
widow of George N. Finley, who died in 1952.
Mrs. Finley is survived by two sons, Tom Finley of Odessa and
Emmett Finley of Waxahachie; one daughter, Mrs. Daisie Hodge of
Athens; two brothers, James T. Williams and
H. L. Williams both of Athens, and eight grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central
Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Slayton officiating, and burial
will be in Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Carroll
and Lehr.
Note: Death certificate shows Francis Ellen Finley born February
26, 1888 in Alabama and died April 26, 1966 in Athens, Texas.
