Final Rites Held for Ben Roberts

Athens, Texas

Funeral services were held Monday for Ben M. Roberts, 81 a former resident of Athens, who died at his home in Dallas Sunday after a lengthy illness.
The Rev. Lee Ramsour, pastor of the First Baptist Church, conducted the services, and burial was in the Athens City Cemetery.

Roberts was born in Calhoun, Louisiana, and came to Athens in 1897. He lived here until 1944, when he moved to Dallas.
His wife, Mrs. Lila Robertsdied in 1944.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. L. C. Key of Athens and Mrs. Ruth Roberts of Dallas, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
