Grand-Ma Pettigrew Suffers Paralytic Stroke

Grand-Ma Pettigrew is reported in a very critical condition at this time and the result of a paralytic stroke which she suffered early Tuesday morning, at the home of her son, P. E. Pettigrew on Route 1, with whom she has made her home during the past several months. Her entire left side was affected.

Funeral Services For Grand-Ma Pettigrew Held Mon. Afternoon.

Mrs. Emily Pettigrew, age 80 years, passed to her reward at 7:20 o'clock Sunday evening following a paralytic stroke which she suffered last Tues. morning. Her condition has remained critical since that time and she never showed signs of improvement. The end had been expected for several days and her only two surviving children and other near relatives were called to her bedside several days ago.

Funeral services for Grand-Ma Pettigrew were held from the Malakoff Cemetery at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with the two local pastors, Revs. E. L. Edgar and Wallace Clark officiating. Interment took place immediately following. Funeral Arrangements were in charge of Arthur Ballard, local undertaker.

The deceased is survived by her two children; Mrs. John Lockler of Midland and P. E. Pettigrew of this city.
