Aged Negro Drops Dead While At Work

Eli Warren, negro, about 50 years of age, succumbed after being over heated shortly afternoon Tues. He and some other workmen were in Cedar Creek bottom cutting wood for W. M. Noble when he doped his saw and complained of feeling badly. He staggered around a moment and fell. Fellow workmen had him in the shade and attended him as best they could. He only lived an hour and a half.

An inquest was held over the body by Justice of the Peace, R. A. McLain at 3:30 o'clock and the verdict of death due to being over heated was rendered. Eli was a good negro and was well spoken of among both the white and the colored people.
