Mary Brightwell
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Adair Brightwell, of San Jose
California; will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Carroll and Lehr
Memory Chapel with Rev. Mack Muhlendorf officiating.
Interment will be in Rock Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Brightwell died Thursday in San Jose after a lengthy
illness.
She was a native of Leagueville and moved to California as a
young woman. She was a retired nurse from California State
Hospital System.
Survivors include one brother Daniel Adair of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

James Adair
Services for James Daniel Adair, 68, of Tyler, were held at 10:30
a.m. Saturday in Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home chapel with the
Rev. Fred Harris officiating.
Masonic graveside services were held in Leagueville Cemetery.
Mr. Adair died last Wednesday afternoon in a Tyler hospital
following a sudden illness.
A native of Brownsboro, he lived in Tyler 32 years and was
retired from Exxon Oil Co. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No.
1233 of Tyler and the York Rite Shrine.
He was a member of Bailes Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Adair, Tyler, four sons:
Jerry E. Adair and Billy Simms, both of Tyler, Donald Adair of
Arlington, and Ronald Adair, Bedford; eight daughters: Mrs. Betty
Tomlinson, Taiwan, Mrs. Jimmie Rodems, Buffalo, N.Y., Mrs. Glenda
Clayton, Mrs. Sue Weesner and Mrs. Louise Lyles, all of Tyler,
Mrs. Nancy Wood, Brownsboro, Mrs. Katherine Kormos, Longview,
Mrs. Patsy Presley, Whitehouse; two sisters, Mrs. Dovie Parker,
Chandler and Mrs. Docia Neil, Grapeland; 34 grandchildren; and
three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers, all Masons, included Pete Peters, Bill Walls, Norm
Quaas, Don Carpenter, Bill Reid and Weldon Booth.

Mrs. Ruby L. Adair
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby L. Adair, 74, of Murchison, are
set for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Murchison
with the Revs. Lee Welch and Joey Fowler officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens under the
direction of Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adair died Sunday in an Athens hospital after a short
illness.
She was born Aug. 22, 1906 at Pickett, Ark. and had lived most of
her life in Murchison. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Murchison.
Survivors are her husband, P. C. "Pat" Adair of
Murchison: four sons, Charles Adair, Glenn Adair and Hollis
Adair, all of Murchison and Billy Adair of Athens; three
daughters, Mrs. Betty Lou Curtner of Jacksboro, Mrs. Frankie Sue
Rounsavall of Garland and Mrs. Ann Crossley of Murchison: three
brothers, Alton Asher of Murchison, Thomas Asher of Amarillo and
Richard Asher of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. Lorena Ward of San
diego, Calif., and Mrs. Johnnie Hatton, Mrs. Lois Ivy and Mrs.
Eurena Bevins, all of Dallas; 13 grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Neill Palmer, Randy Rounsavall, Tony Baker,
Paul David Curtner, Michael Adair, Roger Adair, Larry Adair,
Tracy Adair and Craig Adair.
Great-grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.

Tony T. Adair Services Set At Leagueville
Funeral services for Tony Travis Adair, 19, of the Leagueville
community, will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Leagueville
Baptist Church. Mr. Adair died Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at Memorial
Hospital about an hour after a car he was driving skidded into a
truck on the Tyler highway at Flat Creek Road.
Burial will be at Leagueville under the direction of the Carroll
and Lehr Funeral Home.
The services will be conducted by the Rev. Lee Teakle and the
Rev. Bill Watson.
Mr. Adair was born in Athens. He graduated from Brownsboro High
School and was a student at Henderson County Junior College.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hollis W. Adair of
Leagueville; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George
Wesley Adair of Leagueville; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Morman of Athens; one brother, Richard Adair of
Leagueville; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Fern Taylor of Trinidad and
Miss Cynthia Lee Adair of Leagueville; and one niece, Miss
Sherile Lyn Taylor of Trinidad.
Pallbearers will be George Dingler, Durwood Dingler, Donald Monk,
David Monk, Randy Adair, Milton Adair, Steven Adair, Gordon
Adair, Charles Morman, Arlon Morman and Walter Morman.

Leslie Adair Dies Tuesday In Dallas
Leslie I. Adair, a resident of Irving and formerly of Brownsboro,
died Tuesday in a Dallas hospital, at the age of 54.
Born in Henderson County, Mr. Adair had lived in Dallas the last
30 years. He was a veteran of World War II and was working as a
welder for the G.L.F. Manufacturing Corp.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Leagueville
Baptist Church, with the Rev. A. F. Coody officiating. Burial
will be in the Leagueville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Adair, and two daughters,
Joanne Adair and Mrs. Juanelle Szakacs, all of Irving.
Mr. Adair is survived by four brothers, Wesley Adair and Lonzo
Adair of Leagueville; Wylie Adair of Teague; and Ebb Adair of
Palmer.
He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Allie Howard and Mrs.
Vera Gideon of Palmer, Mrs. Ethel Walker of Coppell; and Mrs.
Estel Barton of Dallas.
He had two grandchildren.

Mr. Adair Dies; Rites Thursday
Ernest Wesley Adair, 48, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. He was
stricken with a heart attack at his home in the Leagueville
community and was pronounced dead on arrival at an Athens
hospital.
A member of the Leagueville Missionary Baptist church, Mr. Adair
had lived in Henderson County most of his life. He was employed
by Ling-Tempco-Vought at Dallas.
Mr. Adair is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Adair of
Leagueville, one son, Randy Adair of Leagueville, three
daughters, Mrs. D. L. Stanberry, Mrs. Loyd Nichols, both of Grand
Prairie, and Mrs. Ann Haskell of Leagueville; his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. G. W. Adair of Leagueville; three brothers, Hollis
Adair, Howard Adair, and Derl Adair, all of Leagueville; four
sisters, Mrs. Vivian Dingler, Mrs. Blanche Williams, and Mrs.
Janice Monk, all of Leagueville, and Mrs. Sally Simmons of Tyler,
and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Leagueville
Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Jack Welch
officiating, and burial will be in Leagueville Cemetery with
Hassell and Foster in charge. Nephews will be pallbearers.

Hollis C. Adair
Funeral services for Hollis C. Adair, 48, of Murchison are set
for 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Murchison with
the Rev. Lee Welch and the Rev. James Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction
of Carroll-Lehr Funeral home of Athens.
Mr. Adair died Wednesday at Lakeland Medical Center after a
sudden illness.
He was born Oct. 9, 1936 in Murchison where he has lived all his
life. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Murchison
and was an employee of Lone Star Gas and Ensearch for 29 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie; two sons, Roger of Chandler
and Craig of Murchison; two daughters, Debbie Feagin and Brenda
Adair, both of Murchison; father, P. C. Adair of Murchison; three
brothers, Charles and Glenn, both of Murchison , and Billy of
Athens; three sisters, Betty Curtner of Jacksboro, Frankie
Rounsavall of Garland and Ann Crossley of Murchison; and one
grandson.
