Henry Downs Morrison

I descend from Henry Downs Morrison, who first came to Henderson County in l858.  He was  minister of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Athens l858-l867.  He had 3 sons who were all in I Company, 6th Texas Cavalry, Ross's Texas Cavalry Brigade.  One (Lt. William J.) was killed at the Battle of Corinth, Mississippi in l862. A second (Pvt. John D....my grgrgrandfather) was wounded in l863 in Alabama and had his right leg amputated.  The third (Capt. Henry McGrady Morrison) served the entire 4 years and the worse thing that happened to him was getting captured at Hatchie Bridge in l862.
