Roy Weir Honored by Masonic Order with 50-Year Pin

Roy I. Weir, Sr. Of Athens, former Malakoff druggist for many years, was honored here Saturday evening in a special meeting of the Malakoff Masonic Lodge in the presentation of a 50-year pin.
The presentation ceremony was held in the Masonic Hall, with the address and presentation being made by Dr. R. E. Henderson, Athens. The speaker was presented by Alton Laney, former Malakoffian, also of Athens. Both men are prominent in Masonic work throughout the state. Laney, Malakoff-reared, is a member of the Malakoff Lodge.
Accompanying the speaker here from Athens were, Frank Jones, Roy Parnell, and L. E. Shippey. Visitors and past masters were also present from Cayuga, Mabank, Eustace and Corsicana.
An anniversary cake and refreshments were served.
Mr. Weir became a member of the Malakoff Lodge in 1910 and has maintained his membership here since that time.
