Matthew Jefferson Hill

Matthew Jefferson Hill was born to John Jacob Hill and Mary Mullins Hill in c 1851 in Tennessee. He married Ernestine Matilda Augier on 30 October 1872 in Henderson County, Texas. Family stories say he was accidentally shot to death in December 1879 in Cooke County, Texas.

Matthew and Ernestine Hill had the following known children (according to records sent to author, not proved)

1. William Alexander Hill (1873-1968) who married Leona Louisa Mayfield
2. Charles "Charley" Hill ( 1875-?) who died young
3. Ozark Hill (1876-1967) who married 1. Lura Smith 2. Mollie Opal Tate
4. Ozro (1876) twin to Ozark, died as infant
5. Josephine Antoinette "Jesse" Hill (1878-1956) who married Richard Gray Terrell
6. Matthew "Aunt Mathy" Hill (1880-1978) who married Mr. Ford
