Large Crowds Visit Malakoff On
Trades-Days
From The Malakoff News
Friday, September 6, 1940
The photo above is an actual picture taken in the streets of
Malakoff during one of the recent semi-monthly Trades-Days
events that are being sponsored by the Malakoff business
firms. The special feature days, as the picture well
illustrates, have been drawing huge crowds from all parts of the
Malakoff trade territory.
On these special days, many valuable premiums are being given
away and special bargain prices offered the public in all lines
of merchandise. These Trades-Day events are considered
profitable to both the local merchants and the buying public, in
that they offer substantial savings to consumers and at the same
time afford the participating merchants an opportunity to extend
their services to a wider range of territory
OFFERS FREE RODEOS
In addition to the regular Trades-Day programs, the Trades-Day
association members have been arranging for and financing a
series of free rodeo programs as an entertainment feature for
Malakoff patrons on two Saturday afternoons in each month.
The next such free show will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4:00
in the arena of the D & R Rodeo Company. Arrangements
are being made to make this show the greatest thus far presented
this season. The rodeo company recently purchased the
livestock of the Ledbetter show at Athens, which, added to their
own string, provides a large number of animals for the riding
events.
