Former Malakoff Girl Wins Highest
Honors at Corsicana Jr. High

Miss Ann Fowler, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. J. G. Fowler, former
Malakoff family, won the highest honors of the 142 students
graduating from the Corsicana Junior High School during the
1946-47 school term. Miss Fowler led the entire class with a
scholastic average of 97.19.
Wins Star Award
In addition to receiving the class honors for the highest
scholastic average, Miss Fowler was also the recipient of the
Star Award honor. Requirements for this coveted award are that
the student be a graduate; have no more than three demerits for
the two years; a better than 90 scholastic average; and high in
leadership and citizenship qualities. Election of the winners for
the award was by student ballot in the class.
Miss Fowler is the granddaughter of Mrs. J. A. Fowler of
Malakoff.
