A Double Wedding.
Married at the residence of R. H. Hodge of
Barry,
October 28, 1900, Rev. Mr. Lockett officiating,
Miss Hattie Lee Dunklin to Mr. J. H. Hodge,
and Miss
Maggie Hodge to Mr. Will Hood.
There was a large
crowd in attendance and a fine dinner in honor of
the occasion. Little Earl Varnell and Mildred Hodge
scattered roses in their pathway. Messrs. Hodge
and
Hood are industrious, sober and honest men. Mr.
Hodge and Miss Maggie were raised in Henderson
county. The young ladies are general favorites in
the community and are noted for those estimable and
amiable qualities that adorn womanly character. May
they all be happy and prosperous through life is the
wish of the writer.

Athens as a Cotton Market
The reputation of Athens as a cotton market goes
beyond the limits of Henderson county. This is a well
known fact. Tuesday gave another illustration of that
fact. Fifteen wagons with 32 bales of cotton from
Anderson county came into Athens Tuesday. They
all sold together to Reierson, Wood & Scott at
prices
perfectly satisfactory to them considering the market
that day, and their purchases amounted to several
hundred dollars. The satisfaction given them will
doubtless bring them and many others back again.
They reside some ten or twelve miles over in
Anderson . Those composing the company were
S. S. Rush, Rube Frames, Wesly Ward,
Mally Cooper,
Willis White, Josh Taylor and
son, Gilbert Nix, Wesly
Gatewood and "The Spider." Mr. Rush
subscribed
for the Review while in the city.
