Soldier Springs
Jan. 26 Very surprised, I am sure some of the readers of the
Athens Review
will be to read a few articles from Soldier Springs, for I have
not read
any from here recently.
We are having a good school at Soldier Springs now, under the
instructions of Mr. Wortham and Miss Debman. There are not
many attending, but are having good conduct.
The girls and boys have just purchased their new basket balls and
are
practicing to win in a match team.
The Pleasant Hill boys basketball team came and played Soldier
Springs
the score being 41 to 36 in favor of Pleasant Hill. That is
not so
discouraging so try again.
A few good singers from Concord visited at Mr. Shelton's home
Friday
night and sang some songs which were enjoyed very much.
A great number were suprised Sunday to see the ground covered
with snow.
But the beautiful scenery soon vanished.
