OVER THE COUNTY
Shady Grove
School is progressing nicely under the care of Prof.
Smith.
Farmers are badly behind with their work.
At the residence of Starling Brown a few
evenings since Misses Nora and Vinnie his
accomplished daughers, entertained their guest right royally.
J. D. Martin says it takes a good team to carry
an empty wagon to Athens now owing to bad roads. He also says
that every citizen ought to support the Hon. J. J. Faulk's
proposed road bill; and he would like to see it become a law.
Rev. J. G. Killilngsworth is clearing a new
ground in the fertile valley of Kickapoo. When this is done he
will have about 100 acres of fine bottom land upon which it is an
easy matter to produce 40 bushels corn per acre.
Bascom B. Ford has moved into his new residence.
E. M. Scott's horse was badly cut by running
into wire recently.
Bill Tedford and Kirby Shavor
swapped horses the other day bouth of whom were cheated.
J. C. Buckalew has built a new residence.
J. F. Killingsworth is living on T. J.
Fuller's place.
Ducks and squirrels are plentiful on Kickapoo.
School Boy.
We wish "School Boy" would write every week. We h ad t
leave out a communication from Mars last week because the name of
the author was not signed on it.
