Free Show at Victory Theatre for Malakoff Visitors on Xmas Eve

from The Malakoff News

Friday, December 23, 1952

Old Santa Claus in person will pay his second visit to "The Lignite City" for the 1952 Christmas season tomorrow afternoon - December 24th. He will arrive by truck, about 1:30 p.m., it has been announced, and will spend the major portion of the afternoon visiting with the host of little folk from over the local area, who will doubtless gather here to greet him for the second time this year.

The welcome visitor, coming by motor vehicle, he said, in order to save his reindeer for the strenuous night ahead, will bring his bag full of candies which he will distribute among his eager constituents in the vicinity. There will also be free pop corn at the Victory Theatre, which will be opened at 3:00 in the afternoon for a special FREE matinee comedy program, that is designed strictly for the entertainment of the kiddies.

Santa Claus, it has been announced, will be a special guest for the movie program and he will entertain the little folk while the adults are about their last-minute shopping chores.

Christmas Eve, with the presence of Santa Claus, himself, is to be a day of entertainment, not only for the home folk, but also those from the surrounding trade area who may choose to bring their families to "The Lignite City" for this occasion.

Santa's visit on the two occasions this season, was in response to the special invitation extended him by members of the local Rotary Club and other business men of the community.
