ATHENS WEEKLY REVIEW
January 29, 1925
OPELIKA
Jan 13-We are having some cold weather this week.
We observed today that the woodsmen were back on the job again.
The small pox scare is about over, as those who had it are
better. Dr. Horton vaccinated the.
school children and they are all boasting of having some good
looking arms. Taking this all.
into consideration, the school is progressing nicely.
H. M. Peck of Corsicana spent the week end with John
Ball.
Jack Howell was on the sick list last week.
J. M. Alvis and family, accompanied by Mrs.
Ball spent Sunday with Abb Ball of
Noonday.
The party at Mr. Wedgeworths last night
was enjoyed by all present.
Freeman Hulsey, Misses Maudie Alvis, Minnie and Vinnie
Ball motored to Tyler Sunday.
Miss Vera Luker spent the weekend in Athens with
her mother.
We are all wondering why Mason Day is making so
many visits to Chandler. Perhaps.
some one down there can tell us.
John Harbison and family spent Sunday with Mrs.
J. M. Alvis.
Ed and George Vandergriff spent
Sunday at Mr. Days home.
Mr. Taylor has moved to Opelika.
Mrs. Fannie Parker spent last Wednesday night
with her sister, Mrs. Laura Hatton.
Prof. G. H. Turner spent the weekend in Tyler.
W. L. Gilley is moving to Tyler. His health is
improving.
J. F. Hatton says it doesnt pay to sell
gum drops any more. I think after he gets back.
from the big ball at Austin he will decide to put some more in
stock.
