New York, July 10th
A large group of relatives and friends attented the funeral
services here Friday, afternoon for Brenda Joyce Marrs. Rev.
Oscar Smith conducted the service assisted by Rev. C.O. Jackson,
Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Tindel and son are visiting his brother,
Hurbert, and family and other relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Fountain of Commerce spent Saturday night with
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Sholars in the Roy Sholars home.
Hubert Bogard spend the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Irene
Bogard.
Mr. and Mrs. Horton Townley visited in the Walter Barron home in
Canton Sunday. Miss Bertha Mae Barron is spending the week in the
Townley home.
Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Shiftlet of Dean, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Gross and
Sarahlyn, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Wimberly and boys of Athens, and Mr.
and Mrs. Royal Hounsel and Ronnie of Dallas spent Sunday with
their parnets, Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Wimberly.
Charlie Kirksey, Jr., of Dallas, visited his father, Charlie
Kirksey, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lanier Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smith of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Lanier
visited Mrs. Lanier's sister, Mrs. Bettie McCain and family of
East Bernard from Friday until Monday of last week.
E.E. Driver of Sentinel, Oklahoma, E.R. Driver of Lubbock, Mr.
and Mrs. Bill wartenberger of Los Angeles, California and Mrs.
Retha Wertenberger of Kemp were 4th of July visitors in the R.T.
Driver home.
Misses Arlene Moore and Bettie Boles of Beaumont, Mr. and Mrs.
W.T. Crossley, Jr., of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Fagan Hudson and
baby of Athens were Sunday visitors in the W.T. Crossley, Sr.
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Lewis Dickerson and baby attended church here
Sunday morning. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Wimberly
and boys of Athens, Mrs. Quincy Garrnet and Mr. and Mrs.
Richardson and baby of Palestine.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Cumbie of Fort Worth visited relatives here
Thursday until Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill durr and son of Rylie spent Wednesday and
Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Wren. They all visited in the
Arthur Beam home near Edom Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ray Richardson of Fort Worth visited relatives
here over the weekend.
Miss De Loris Meador of Houston spend last week here with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. I.M. Meador. She wass accompanied home by
her brother, Eugene, and family of Tyler. Miss Gwen Meador came
back with them and was to spend her vacation here.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beam of Dallas spent Saturday night with her
brother, B.B. Wren and wife.
L.F. Tierce of Crockett is visiting his daughter and her husband,
Mr. and Mrs. John Van Sickle.
The condition of W.A. Dingler seems to be slowly improving. He
has been ill since March 11th.
