New Hope, June 6-
Quite a number are marketing tomatoes this week. Some have
finished chopping cotton. Most everyone thinks the tomato crop
will be short.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Deward Morman on May 27th,
and 8 lb boy, named Samuel Deward. The same day a 5 lb girl was
born to Mr. and Mrs. DeVille. The young Miss
will be called Virginia Ruth.
A girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Ray on
May 28th. Her name is Magdalene.
Mrs. Eula Wood who has been visiting her
daughter, Mrs. Deward Mormon was called home
Sunday by the illness of her husband, W. W. Wood.
Walton Loftis and family and Mrs. Russell Baxter
and children have been visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. L.
Loftis. Walton lives in Kansas while Mrs. Baxter
lives at Kerns.
Jack Luker of Jacksonville visited relatives
here Sunday.
Part of the singing class attended the singing convention at
Leagueville. The next convention will be at New Hope the 4th
Sunday of this month.
Mr. and Mrs. Lon Morgan and family of Dallas
county, visited relatives here Sunday week ago.
Mrs. E. C. Hood returned home last week after a
few days visit with her niece, Mrs. O. M. Magee
of Opelika.
