Mill Run


W.A. Clayton left Monday accompanied by Mr. M. T. Pace for Dallas to a
specialist to be treated for stomach trouble. We hope Billie will soon be
up and able to attend his business again.
Considerable sickness yet but not serious.
We have plenty of rain. Not much plowing going on, so
much bad weather.
Wade Owen's little girl is doing very nicely.
Your writer has gone to Van Zandt county this week. Will report when
he returns. Exit.


Ash News

Jan. 28.-W. L. Morgan left last week for Dallas on an outing as well as a
business trip.
Rev. Lawler came up from Chandler and preached for Saturday night but
nothing doing Sunday as it rained all day. He will be back again Saturday
night and will try-it over again. We think Baptist people will take 1st Sunday
for their day hereafter. We have the laugh on them as it has rained them out
every time for quite a while.
Our esteemed friend, John Dean, Has been getting lower and lower for the
last few days and is seriously ill. While his chance is a slim one, we still have
hopes.
D. A. Everett is also quite sick.
Veach Cumbie and Wife of Black Jack spent from Saturday to Monday with
Mr. Campbell and family.
Mrs. Beardsley of Brownsboro visited her daughter here last week.
Tuck Lewis from north of Murchison has moved to the Thompson farm in
East Ash.
Marlin Sanders of Athens was in Ash Sunday.
Charlie Douglas and wife left Monday for Longview to visit relatives.
Mrs. Alice Kelough and children of Athens are spending the week here.
The masquerade ball given by Misses Tanner Friday night was a grand
success. Herbert Graham and Nannie Lewis were winners.
Our school is progressing nicely. Miss Lillie Barnett of Mabank is our
teacher. Everybody likes her fine.
Some few have begun plowing.
We have singing every Sunday evening. Everybody invited to come and
bring somebody with them.
I. D. McShan made a business trip to Mabank Monday.
F. O. Griffith and family of Dry Creek spent Saturday night and Sunday
at T. P. Hull's of this place.
