John Bankston
Community Chairman for the East Texas Chamber of
Commerce

John Bankston, local automobile dealer, according to Hubert M.
Harrison, General Manager, has been named Community Chairman in
Malakoff for the East Texas Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Bankston's
appointment, along with others within the county, were recently
announced by Paul Carrington of Dallas, president of the regional
chamber.
Other chairman appointments in the county were announced as
follows: Roy Parnell, Athens; T. H. Oliver, Trinidad; Truett
Fulghum, Brownsboro; Charley Pinkerton, Chandler; T. B.
Mattingly, Cross Roads; and Riley Pirtle, Eustace.
Selection of these men to serve in this capacity was made upon
the recommendation of Austen Hargraves, Athens, chairman for the
county.
"We are constantly striving to make our work more practical
and helpful at the community level," Manager Harrison said.
"The appointment of these community chairmen will keep our
organization in closer touch with views and interests of
Henderson County people."
