Martha Huff
Singly Honored at Texas University
from The Malakoff News
Friday, November 4, 1938
Miss Martha Huff, daughter of Mrs. George Huff of Austin, was
signally honored the past week at the University of Texas, when
she was elected to membership in the National Phi Beta Kappa.
Membership in this fraternity is exclusive, being open to only
those students who rank the highest scholastically. Miss Huff,
who is in her junior year in the university, was previously
honored when she was chosen assistant to Dr. Manuel, professor of
psychology.
Miss Huff received her high school education in the Malakoff High
School and was valedictorian of the Class of 1936. Her average
for the entire four years' work here was 99.3, which far excels
any set of high school grades that has ever been given in the
schools here. She has consistently attained the honor roll at the
University since going there in the summer of 1936.
