Hickory Grove.


We are having the weather for work and people generally are hard at it making
general preparations for another crop. Our country is fast coming to the front.
Mr. Tarrant has a sick child.
There was a dance at Mr. Roger's Friday night. A large crowd was present
and all had a nice time.
Miss Laura Rogers has been visiting relatives at Eustace.
Prof. George Owen visited his parents Saturday and Sunday.
There was a musical entertainment at Cottonwood Friday night and a lecture
by Mr. Johnson who served three years in the Philippines.
School is progressing nicely with Miss Belle Allen as teacher. She is a good
teacher and one that takes an interest in each scholar.
We have a nice society every Friday evening.
Mr. Leach's folks have moved to Van Zandt county.
Rev. John Slaughter has moved on one of Mr. German's places.
Robert Owen has moved to his new home that Mr. Carpenter has
just completed.
Jim Roger s has completed his house.
Mr. Rooke and family of Athens were out visiting relatives; also Mrs. White
was visiting here last Sunday.
John Shipley from Dallas came down to see his wife Saturday and Sunday.
Robert Owen and wife and Jessie Cook and wife went to Eustace Saturday.
Mr. Gothard's folks have moved into our community.
