Luther Paroline is very much improved at present.
Little Vergie Laymance has been on the sick list.
Bernard Smith spent last week visiting relatives in Mabank and Payne Springs.
Henry Werneking left Tuesday for Corsicana to enlist in the Army.
J. R. Gaulding and family of Corsicana were visitors in the Robert G. Smith home Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Kelly and family attended church at Shelby Chapel Wednesday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Thad Lamb and little granddaughter of Dallas spent the weekend visiting
in the home of the latter’s brother, Bud Smith and family.
Kermit Smith of Van Zandt was visiting last week in the home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Smith.
C. A. Spencer of Athens was a business visitor of Lee Roby on Tuesday.
James Barr and Jee Gage are visiting in the home of Tom Ben Thompson.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Braun also Bill Niesen and daughter Corrine of Waco spent a few
days last week in the Carl Werneking home.
There was a dance at the home of Ira Hawley Thursday night.
Wiley Smith of Wills Point is visiting in the home of his Uncle, Robert Smith and family.
Ferrel, Melvin and Earline Douglas, Nelson, Travis, James and Bruce Roby and Delmar
Carter and Johnnie Werneking were guest of Bernard Smith Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Smith accompanied little Miss Irma John Simmons to her home at
Mabank Sunday, others visiting in the home of Mrs. C. T. Smith and family were Mrs.
Bud Primrose of Payne Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith entertained with a dance Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clayton were visiting relatives in Fort Worth last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Block and children of Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Werneking were visitors
in the Carl Werneking home Thursday.
Edwin Harris of Sand Springs was a visitor in the Lee Roby home Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Carl Werneking and daughters, Freida, Mrs. Lee Roby and daughter, Alvis, were
visitors in the Abe Mayfield home Sunday afternoon.
Carl Werneking and son Oscar left Monday for Turkey Creek on business.
Rev. Harris Dool closed his meeting here Tuesday night. He left Wednesday for
Leagueville to assist in a meeting.
Clifton Smith of Detha spent the weekend in the Ed Knowles home.
Mrs. Ed Knowles and daughter spent Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Bill Faught.
