Cross Roads, Nov. 11 - W. R. Womack and I. B. Welch handed "Uncle" Dick the price for the Review. Thanks.

Cross Roads went wet last week and the people have plenty stock water.

Cross Roads had no preaching Sunday. The preacher failed to come.

The high school play was pulled off Thursday night and netted $50.00.

Bishop Welch of Post Oak visited his father of Cross Roads Sunday.

C. Simmons of Willow Springs had business at Cross Roads Friday.

C. Boyd of Rome had business last week in Cross Roads.

In order to meet the mail carrier I close for this time.

Pickens Spur. Nov. 11 - We were glad to read the announcement of C. W. C. for tax assessor of Henderson county. If our support is worth anything to you, you can count on same, and we truly trust your appeal to the voters will be more successful than the one you made for the storm suffers. And you will meet with some embarrassment as to your recent cotton price prediction for ever since your statement, the price of cotton has steadily declined. Best wishes to you, old friend.

Fall plowing will now start in earnest as soon as the ground is dry enough.

The great throng of moves continues with no sign of abatement and its hard to tell if they are hunting the land of milk and honey ore the lake of free gas and oil.

The teacherage for the Stockard white school was sold to Shell Watterson and the money donated to the erection of a school house for negroes, but on account of the late rains work on same is progressing slowly.

The price of oil leases in this section are on the upward trend. A few tracts were leased last week for five dollars per acre.

I. S. Baker and family of Kaufman spent Saturday night and Sunday with J. J. Dixon.

Derous January and Miss Velma Stephens both of this place were married Sunday, November 10. Rev. Williford of Eustace performed the ceremony. They will make their home with the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert January.
